Juma Showcases IP Telephony & Data Solutions at NYSCATE Hudson Valley Technology Conference
IP Technologies enhance educational experiences, security and operations
March 03, 2007
Wappingers Falls, NY (NYSCATE Conference) – Juma Technology, a full service telecommunications and IT systems integrator, today participated in the Fifth Annual Hudson Valley Conference sponsored by the New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE). The Juma exhibit demonstrated how school districts can benefit from Internet Protocol (IP) technologies to enhance educational experiences, facilitate district operations, reduce expenses and improve physical and network security.
Juma executives highlighted a variety of IP telephony and data convergence feature-sets to demonstrate the advantages of implementing IP technologies throughout school districts.
Juma Technology president David Giangano noted that ever-growing class sizes continue to strain resources and potentially threaten the educational experience. “A school district’s communications network can play an integral role in enabling learning institutions to efficiently deliver a top quality education while saving valuable dollars related to telecommunication costs,” said Giangano.
“In addition to increasing the efficiency of a district’s network and operations, IP technologies can change the student experience for the better by introducing new technologies into the classroom and providing teachers with greater opportunities for information gathering, sharing and collaboration,” continued Giangano.
“At Juma, we have the ability to help school districts implement state-of-the-art technologies to enrich student learning.”
Juma highlighted benefits inherent to IP technology solutions:
• Realize tremendous savings with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone systems.
• Wireless capabilities to provide teachers and students with the flexibility to access scholastic tools for enhanced learning.
• Connect multiple locations onto an integrated data and voice network for simple district-wide extension dialing and seamless information sharing.
• Improve communication between teachers, parents and students through enhanced features inherent to a VoIP communication system.
• Simplify system administration, reduce costs and expand study/faculty collaboration.
• Enhance teaching productivity with greater opportunities for information gathering, sharing and collaboration.
• Empower staff – from faculty to maintenance – with productivity boosting communication capabilities.
• Automate routine administrative matters and requests for information
• Leverage IP-based communications for flexible, cost-effective alternatives to costly, redundant back-up facilities.
• Provide comprehensive security capabilities for voice, data, wired, wireless and remote access, along with integrated physical security systems like video surveillance and card access control systems.
• Integrate voice, video, data and wireless applications to simplify network infrastructure and enhance services for students, teachers and administrators.
Juma Technology also touted their Funding Resource Center, which is designed to assist school districts in identifying alternate funding resources, such as Federal and State grant dollars earmarked specifically for communication systems.
“From guaranteeing communications in an emergency to promoting enhanced learning in and out of the classroom, Juma’s IP technology services offer tremendous benefits to school districts and the students they serve,” concluded Giangano.
